Account Privileges

Account privileges are based upon your role within your company and can be changed through your local UC Regional Sales Manager or UC Account Manager. Below is a key of the various account settings.

  • Basic Account - This is the default setting when you are registered and comes with the most basic account settings where you can view pricing, stock and place orders.
  • Branch Primary - Branch primary is designed for branch managers to see elevated branch details including all the features of the Basic Account with the addition of branch web users, media flyers and current spend policies.
  • Company Primary - The company primary setting is designed for business owners who will be able to see all features of the account with the addition of being able to do this for all branches.

Chat Service

Our new online chat service that appears in the bottom right hand corner of your screen is the easiest and quickest way to get in touch with us, for the moment it is just for customers who need help logging in but we are looking to role this out to our other departments soon.

Upload Company Logo

To enable some of our latest media features you will need to Upload Company Logo Here this will allow users who have branch primary privileges to see customized flyers and promotional material.

Media Section

We have added a new personlised media section that allows customers to use our promotional literature as their own, personlised with their own company logo. See about uploading your company logo above or go Upload Company Logo Here here. Please note these documents are not to be changed in anyway and the UC logo must remain at all times.

Notifications

From time to time we may send you notifications to keep you up to date with the latest news or or price lists which we will send direct to your web account. You may notice in the top right hand corner you have a round red dot with a number in the middle, this is the number of notifications that are unread on your account, clicking this number will take you to the messages page where you can read all of your historical notifications and download any documents we may have sent you.

Security

You will have noticed that the first time you login to the new website you are asked to change your password to something more secure, this is simply to keep up to date with the latest security standards and to keep ahead of the latest laws around GDPR that will be coming into place in May 2018. Your account and it's security is your responsibility, sharing passwords or accounts is no longer permitted and each user must have their own account with their own login credentials.

Web Users

A new feature added to the site is the My Account > Web Userswhich allows branch/company primary enabled accounts to keep track of the users on the website and disable accounts when an employee leaves or moves positions within the company. It is vital that this is kept up to date to stop ex employees accessing your private company information.

Mobile

The new website is now mobile friendly, enabling you to order parts on the fly, whether your in the office or out on the road, it's now really easy to order everything you need.


I have just registered but can't login?

It can take up to 48 working hours to activate your account. We may perform checks to make sure you are who you say you are for safety and legal reasons. You will receive a confirmation email once your account has been activated.

I want to change my password!

If you are trying to log on, click on the 'forgotten password' link on the login screen. If you are already logged in, just go to the My Account section of the site and click the change password tab.

What account number do I use?

You can find your account number on your latest invoice, or you can contact your local regional sales manager who will be happy to provide it for you.

I can't see prices, or order any items?

Only registered accounts can see prices, stock levels and place orders. If you are an existing Universal Components customer, you can register for a web account here. If you don't currently have an account with us, please use our query form where a representative will be able to assist.

I can't find the part I'm looking for

We are constantly adding products to the website. You can search using our UC Part Code or by using the OEM Code. Alternatively you can contact our UK based sales team on +44(0)114 261 1122.
